In summer 2019, a group dedicated to Salesian Spirituality took a pilgrimage to France to walk in the steps of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal. Their stops included the holy places where Francis and Jane each saw a vision of the other.
Francis saw a vision of Jane and two other women heading a long procession. Below, Sister Mary Paula McCarthy, with Sister Mary Grace McCormick of St. Louis and Sister Brenda, presents the whole story.
Below is the site where St. Jane had a vision when out riding on her property in Bourbilly. She saw a priest walking near this mill and “heard” God say this man would be her spiritual companion. A few years later, she met Francis as he preached the Lenten sermons in her home parish and recognized him as the same priest.
