The Campaign

We are looking for seven additional sisters!

On January 20, 2010, Visitation Monastery of Minneapolis announced the kickoff of a targeted campaign to double the number of vowed sisters at our monastery over the next three years. The increase would bring the total number of sisters at the monastery to 14.

We are looking to draw women between the ages of 20-50 to consider a life of prayer, service and community at Visitation Monastery of Minneapolis.

During the 22+ years since we began our ministry on Minneapolis’ North Side, we have become an active and integral part of the community. Our lifestyle combines traditional monastic living that includes prayer and chanting The Liturgy of the Hours four times daily with friendship and outreach to often marginalized people in our neighborhood.

In the upcoming months, we will be reaching out to young adult groups and churches to tell them about our ministry and invite them to learn more about us. We will also be hosting discernment evenings to help women and men figure out the next steps related to their job and their lives. You may also be reading about us in various publications or seeing news stories about our effort to attract new sisters.

We welcome you to explore this Web site to learn more about Visitation Monastery of Minneapolis and our ministry on the North Side.

For further information about our ministry or becoming a sister, please call Sister Katherine Mullin at 612-521-6113 or fill out an e-mail form.
