Discernment Series
“Be who you are, and be that well.” –St. Francis de Sales
Faith. Home. Marriage. Career. Family. Religious life. School.
Join the Visitation Sisters and their Lay Companions as they help to provide resources and reflection on discernment for life’s biggest, and even the not so big, decisions.
Thinking about making a career change? Longing to get married and start a family? Wondering how God is calling you to serve Him? Contemplating a big move? Or just unsure if you are doing what God has called you to do?
Who:
Join men and women for the “Following the Spirit” series, designed to provide tools to help discern – or recognize –the next steps in your life.
What:
Following the Spirit is a five-part series led by Sister Katherine Mullin of the Visitation Monastery of Minneapolis, Visitation Lay Companion Melissa Borgmann-Kiemde, and Visitation Mendota Heights Alumna Meagan McLaughlin. Anchored in the rich tradition of discernment resources, each session will offer a different form of prayer, feature a vocation story, and include time in small groups to unpack participants’ discernment journeys. ADMISSION IS FREE. Attendance at all five discernment evenings is not required.
The Visitation Community is happy to partner with the Collegeville Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research using their curriculum material for the series.
When:
Following the Spirit participants meet once a month from 7-9pm – with opportunities to connect and pray between sessions. Dates for the Spring 2013 semester are: Monday, January 28; February 25; March 25; April 22; May 20.
Where:
The discernment series is held at the St. Jane House, 1403 Emerson Avenue N., Minneapolis, Minnesota 55411.
